[totem.menneske.dk] {Rorscach_Test}
A
simple Rorscach test done with audio waveforms (see waveform exeamples below)
An orginal standard PCM WAVE file is created in mono, and then mirrored by
inversion into a stereo file.
The file is constructed with frequency content at very high and low frequencies
+ extreme phase and DC changes, as to generate compression artefacts from
various codecs.
The orginal WAVE file is again mirrored by conversion into au, ogg-vorbis, OM, Amiga, ADPCM and MP3 audio formats. All conversions are done with the highest possible compression factor. The conversions produce artefacts, and even seemlingly structual changes to the original file. Thus the compression codecs are used to genrate new timbres and content opossed to their intent of merely compressing data size.
